CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them. It is to such as these that the Kingdom of God is given.” At First UMC Gulfport, children are integral to our life as a community of faith. We learn from them as much as we teach them.
CrossRoad Sunday School
For children in K-6th Grade we learn in a fun, experiential environment. Kids explore the Bible and living for God through five engaging and interactive stations. Children rotate through art, cooking & science, storytelling, video and computers. Join us in the “Stories by the Seaside” room located on the second floor of the education building for gathering time at 10:45 am, following Sunday morning worship.
Preschool Sunday School
Pre-school age children enjoy learning about God through crafts, games, and story time. Preschoolers meet downstairs in room # 4 in the education building.
Nursery Information
During worship families have three child care options: the Noah’s Ark Nursery (downstairs in the sanctuary building), the cry room (in the Choir practice room upstairs in the sanctuary building), or as always children are welcome in the FUMC sanctuary for worship.
The Noah’s Ark Nursery is staffed by Nursery Helpers (moms and other nurturing congregation members that understand how important the care of your children really is) and is for children from infants to age 5.
Sunday Morning Nursery Schedule:
9:15 a.m. until the end of service: You may drop your child off at the Noah’s Ark nursery on the lower level of the sanctuary building. Please pick up your child following worship and escort them to the fellowship hall for Donut time!
